Walter Gloshinski's Teaching Background

In 1988 I began my Special Education career as a teaching assistant in a program with a population similar to the students I now teach at Santa Rosa Middle School.

I have spent the years since then teaching and doing research on the MR population, including completing my Masters Degree in Special Education. This focused specifically on the students I now serve.

My program has won the Jack London Excellence in Teaching Award and the Santa Rosa City Schools Community Partnership Award. I lecture 6-8 times a year at Sonoma State University and open my classroom each semester to classes from SSU (school counseling and special education programs).

I have been featured in the Press Democrat for my creative approach to special education, and have mentored many new special education teachers in the fields of classroom management and curriculum development.
